Daniel P. Bybell
Daniel P. Bybell, Ph.D. is a Principal Senior Scientist at ZINK Imaging where he is a member of the Image Science Laboratory. His fields of expertise are physics and computer programming. His work focuses on the fundamentals of digital imaging systems, and the design and implementation of supporting image processing algorithms through collaboration with the engineering teams.

Prior to ZINK Imaging, Dr. Bybell was part of the Polaroid Corporation's Research & Development organization for 21 years in both the Image Science and Vision Research Labs. His work lead to advances in areas such as digital, color-calibration systems, real-time image interpolation; and novel half toning and tone-scale-calibration.

As a post-doctoral research associate in the University of Pennsylvania's Tandem Accelerator Laboratory, Dr. Bybell worked on all aspects of low-energy nuclear experiments, from experiment design and accelerator operation to particle detection techniques, data acquisition and analysis. Dr. Bybell received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Delaware and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in nuclear physics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the inventor on eight issued United States Patents.

His pastimes include swimming and prestidigitation.
