Richard M. Allen
Richard M. Allen is a Senior Scientist at ZINK Imaging where he is a member of the chemical synthesis group. He is responsible for supplying key materials necessary for the development and manufacture of ZINK media. Richard helped to develop the manufacturing process for all three dyes and is actively involved in outsourcing. A co-inventor of image dyes, Richard has also developed dispersion technology critical for manufacturing ZINK media.
Prior to joining ZINK Imaging, Richard worked for Polaroid Corporation for 17 years as a process research chemist responsible for the development of several large-scale-manufacturing processes for instant film. He also worked on several digital-imaging projects and invented a synthetic approach to near-infrared absorbing dyes. He holds 3 U. S. patents for this work.
Richard received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. He received a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
A lifelong resident of Massachusetts, Richard enjoys outdoor activities with his family including boating, camping, hiking and bike riding.
