Suhail S. Saquib
Suhail S. Saquib is a Distinguished Scientist at ZINK Imaging where he a member of the Image Science Laboratory. His expertise is in image/signal processing techniques and his research work has focused on model-based computational algorithms for improving image quality in electronic imaging systems. His contributions to ZINK technology include real-time modeling and compensation of thermal effects, color management, dot screening and image enhancement algorithms.
Prior to joining ZINK Imaging, Dr Saquib was a member of Polaroid Corporation's R&D Group for 8 years, where his research encompassed all aspects of electronic imaging. He was a co-recipient of Polaroid Corporation's 2000 North American Excellence Gold Award for contributions to the imaging physics of OPAL technology.
His research at the Los Alamos National Laboratories in the area of infrared optical tomography, won him the Michael B. Merickel award for the best student paper at SPIE's 1997 Medical Imaging Symposium. He has published 15 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and conferences and is the inventor of 4 issued United States patents. He is a member of IEEE, SPIE, and IS&T professional societies.
Dr. Saquib received a Bachelor of Technology degree in electronics and electrical communication engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 1991, and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue University.
