Congratulations to 35% of you who got the second poll question right! There are approximately 100,000,000,000 crystals in a single 2" x 3" ZINK™ print. What is even more amazing, is that in one single pixel there are over 20 million crystals. All of these dye crystals together form a high quality ZINK photo!
The crystals are called Amophochromic™ crystals and were invented by chemists at ZINK Imaging. The crystals come in three colors; yellow, magenta and cyan and they all have the amazing property of being clear or colorless at room temperature. Don't forget to stop by the gallery to see some additional crystal photos taken with a microscope.
