Advanced technology is evident at ZINK Imaging through our use of highly sophisticated equipment for manufacturing, as well as best-in-class processes. Our manufacturing is controlled and monitored by process computers for maximum effectiveness and quality assurance. We are committed to continuing research and development for better systems, for better equipment and for improvements in everything we do. A state of the art pilot coater is also available for formulation work and process simulation.

ISO Certifications

Our facility has been ISO 9001 registered since 1994 and was one of the earliest manufacturing sites in North Carolina to become ISO 14001 registered in 1998.

High Caliber Team

Our development and manufacturing team is multi-skilled and with years of experience. The facility is non-union and all employees have a minimum of a high school diploma. The caliber of our employees is integral to our quality system and supported by training programs.

Coating & Roll Control Capabilities

Our coating capabilities feature an aqueous-based coater configured to supply and coat multi layers in a single pass utilizing either curtain or slide hopper coating technology. Both aqueous and solvent based additives can be delivered as an integral part of the prepared coating solution or mixed in-line just prior to the coating station. Capability exists for either gravity-flow or pump-delivery to the coating station.

Solution flows are controlled with mass flow meters and controlled within 1% of specification. Multiple filtration is available for each solution line and easily reconfigured for varying product needs.

Advanced chilling and drying equipment provide flexibility within a wide range of conditions to ensure high quality and energy efficient production.

The facility can handle rolls of base web material up to diameters of 1180 mm, widths of 1600 mm, weights of 1650 kg and varying paper thicknesses. Sophisticated roll processes, including accumulation available to support roll changes at up to 305 meters per minute and fully automated and environmentally controlled warehousing allow for impressive operations.

The coating line is fully contained in a nominally rated class 1000 clean room environment.

Quality Control & Safety

Quality assurance is a critical component of our production capabilities. We have implemented advanced inspection equipment and a rigorous visual inspection/quality system to assure we produce the highest quality materials possible.

Continual improvement is an essential part of our safety, quality and environmental systems. Our facility has been recognized by the International Imaging Industry Association (I3A) for 6 of the past 7 years for excellence in safety performance. Our employees have demonstrated a commitment to continual improvement as demonstrated by trends in reduced downtime.
