The Social Card Template allows you to format a "social card" with a variety of contact information. Social Card 2 is best used with images that are intended to be viewed "vertically" - or with the narrow sides of the image at the top and bottom and the wider sides of the image on the sides (also commonly referred to as portrait). Your social card layout will look like the example above.

1. Select and begin to create an MMS or email message with your selected image.

Note: This function may work differently for every device. For example, your phone may require you to select the image BEFORE creating the message, or your phone may require you to attach the image AFTER creating the message. Please refer to your device manual for instructions.

2. Type the template name SOCIAL2 as the first word in the body of an MMS message or an email message.

Note: Template names are not case sensitive.

3. Enter a space after the template name.

4. After the space, you can type any combination of the following option commands, in any order. (Text is not case sensitive).

Important: You must enter a space in between each command and the associated text, as well as a space in between each option command.

a.  NAME: Type NAME (space) then type your first and last name (ex. name Joan Smith)

Note: The command, NAME, requires both a first and last name. If you wish to only have EITHER a first or last name, use the following commands:

Type FNAME (space) then type the first name only (ex. Fname Joan)
Type LNAME (space) then type the last name only (ex. Lname Smith)

b.  PHONE: Type PHONE (space) then type your phone number - separated by mostly anything, except for spaces and asterisks (ex. phone 123-456-7890 OR phone 123.456.7890)

Note: You can also use the commands PHONE1 AND PHONE2 for additional phone numbers on your social card.

c.  EMAIL: Type EMAIL (space) then type your Email Address (ex. email JohnSmith@Email.com)

Note: You can also use the commands EMAIL1 AND EMAIL2 for additional phone numbers on your social card.

d.  TWITTER: Type TWITTER (space) then type your Twitter Name (ex. twitter JoanSmith12)

e.  IM / SOCIAL MESSAGING: Type the name of the service (space) then type your screen name.

A variety of Social Messaging services are supported: AIM, Skype, Yahoo, ICQ, MSN, Jabber, Gtalk (Google Talk), Facebook, Gadu (Gadu-Gadu), Livejournal, MySpace, or just plain old IM.

Examples:
Type AIM (space) then type your AIM screen name (aim johnsmith12)
Type SKYPE (space) then type your Skype screen name (skype johnsmith12)
Type GTALK (space) then type your Google Talk screen name (gtalk johnsmith)
Type IM (space) then type whatever IM screen name you'd like

Important: You can only choose up to 7 options to fit within the template space. Your phone or carrier may also limit the number of characters you can send in one message.

5. MMS or email the message with a photo attached to pic@ZINK.mobi.

Important: Your image can be an attachment or embedded in the body of your message. Just be sure there are no other attachments or text in the body of your message aside from the commands and information above.

6. You will receive a message back with the subject line "ZINK Mobile Extras." Attached to this message will be your photo, formatted and sized to be ready to print on any ZINK-enabled 2"x3" mobile printer.

EXAMPLE:
To get a card that looks like this:

Tips for Social Card 2

  • Be aware of how your camera phone takes pictures. Some camera phones have a "vertical" LCD screen but the camera actually takes the picture "horizontally". Your images may actually print out the opposite way you think! Best bet is to try the template out, see what happens, and adjust from there. Remember, it's a free service and you never know how creative you might get by mistake.
  • Social Card 2 works best with images you took by rotating your camera phone 90 degrees. Social Card 1 will actually work better with the natural way you take camera phone pictures.
  • The application will automatically reduce the font size of the text lines to fit in the available space on the template. The longest text line will dictate the font size for the whole card for consistency.
